FibrMet® Discs, 8 (203mm)
FibrMet® Abrasive Discs
FibrMet® Abrasive Discs are formulated for fine grinding applications where diamond is not required. FibrMet products contain either aluminum oxide or silicon carbide abrasive, resin-bonded to a uniform and durable 3 mil polyester backing. Their fine size distribution and superb abrasive characteristics make them the best choice for grinding epoxy beads, glass ferrules, and glass or polymer fibers. Buehler offers FibrMet Abrasive Discs in both pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) and plain backed versions, depending on diameter.

UltraPrep™ Diamond Lapping Films
UltraPrep™ Diamond Lapping Film Products are formulated for fine grinding of hard materials such as ceramic and glass ferrules. Diamond particles are resin bonded to a uniform and durable 3 mil polyester backing. Their consistency, fine size distribution, and super-abrasive characteristics make UltraPrep Diamond Lapping Films the best choice for grinding ceramic ferrules. Buehler offers UltraPrep Type A and UltraPrep Type B Diamond Lapping Films in both pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) and plain backed versions. (Dependant on specific diameter).

UltraPrep™ Diamond Lapping Film, Type B (Interrupted)
A more aggressive, longer-life film in which the diamond particles are spaced to allow improved fluid flow and abrasive action
Polishing swarf flows between these particles, allowing the polishing process to continue unaffected
Ideal for use on composite materials, non-ferrous materials, and materials where embedding of abrasive particles is a concern
